Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
The cardiologist who checked me out said I had some problem with the valves. I've since learned that lupus causes problems with heart valves. At times I can feel my heart thumping away at high speed for no particular reason and I get all light-headed until it calms down.
It was scary at first, but I've been living with these cardiac symptoms for a long time now and I'm more or less used to them.

I recently had a resting heart rate in the 110's. I was just starting a flare- the next week I had vasculitis ulcers form and ended p in the hospital with colitis. The doctors just said the HR was a response to the lupus. Get it checked though :)

I don't think it's particularly dangerous, just annoying and disturbing.
The rapid heart rate takes some getting use to, when I focus on it too much I can throw my anxiety into overdrive and have a full blown panic attack. And when I work out I can not do too much too quickly because I get winded.
Is there anything herbal or holistic to lower heart rate? Treat anxiety? I hate taking rx for it!!
