Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
Ive heard of this happening to other people.sometimes they will be ana positive and then ana negative. Not sure of the other tests.I dont know what it means though. How have you been feeling lately? Is it possible that the meds you are on affected the tests or put you in a remission state?..still 16 years is a long time to have consistent results.wish i could be of more help.Hopefully others have a better idea..

I am still very confused about this. I have the SLE diagnosis for 16 years now. The ANA was always positive and the ds/DNA which is very diagnostic for Lupus always positive. I am feeling worse than ever and my rheumy said 2 weeks ago that he wants me to start IMURAN. Maybe the lab made a mistake? In a way it does not matter, I have my dx and I know I am not in remission. I am calling my rheumy's office tomorrow.
