Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
It sounds like you are having a mini-flare up. Did you do anything this weekend that was strenuous or that you normally dont do? Out in the sun? Anything like that could have triggered you to not feel well ,which may only last a few days. Happens to me, sometimes for no reason at all. Your tongue may be sore from Candida, which is a yeast over growth. Many of us get this. The BEST thing I have found for this painful problem is to buy acidophilis powder (pro-biotics) from the health food store. Its in the refrigerated depart. Mix the powder with warm water and swish it in your mouth for a minute. Then swallow it. I sware, it helps within a day or so. Gets rid of the yeast quickly...You can also try plain yogurt with live bacteria in it. You dont want the ones with SUGAR in them. That defeats the purpose. Yeast thrives off sugar. If you dont feel better in a few days, call your rheumy. It can be common for us to have mini flares though which go away on their own within a week. Oh....Do you still get your period? That can also be a culprit of a flare up.
I went shopping yesterday to the outlet malls. Probably walked a mile...Well, got home and felt so sick with fatigue that I had to lay down and was in bed for the rest of the day/night.
Rest and hope you feel better soon.

The fact that it hurts to breathe could be costo or peri-carditis. You also have scleroderma and there could be a tightening of the pericardial sac. Did the difficulty breathing go away or stay?
Since we don't know you very well (yet), have you ever had peri or costochondritis before? Or thrush/yeast? Or lupus mouth ulcers? How long have you had lupus? (I ask because the longer you have the disease, the less likely NEW symptoms arise.)
You need to see your doctor. These things may or may not be connected. As for burning pain, etc., that has to do with the pain pathways in your body. They all over our bodies. For instance, when I give myself a shot in the thigh, it hurts in my neck., burning all the way up there. So I don't know that there's necessarily anything neurological going on. Mostly you need to see your doc and have him/her examine you for the next course of treatment. I'm not sure what you're on, but yeast is a sign of being OVERLY immunosuppressed and docs who see this back down on the meds. Everything depends on context....
