Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
So my name is Katlin, I'm 23 years old and I'm newly suffering from this disease...well really I've been battling symptoms for years but didn't get a confirmation until recently in the last year. I'm hoping this group will help me identify some of what I'm feeling and hopefully be of encouragement to those who are in the same boat as I am. Looking forward to it! :)
Welcome to our group, we are all here because this disease is to much for anyone to handle alone and its good to know your not alone and even if you have the best supporting family in the world they won't understand what you are going through and all the dynamics of this disease unless they have it too and you can vent to us with the knowledge that we have been where you are at some point in our illness.
There is also tons of smart people on here that have been living with this for a very long time so if you start going throw something new you can ask for advise and we have got some pretty smart cookies in this group!
So again welcome and good job for taking this step to helping yourself deal. I look forward to hearing more about you.
