Hi,
I'm new to this group.
My wife has what we are beginning to suspect is Lupus and are currently just fighting to either get the diagnosis or get it ruled out.
She has suffered for many years with Hemiplegic Migraines, about 8 years ago she developed Arthritis (psoriatic is the type they say she has), she has had what they say is psoriasis for many years as well. She intermittently suffers with mouth ulcers, has a diagnosis of Depression and Bipolar. Has been anaemic and on iron tablets for the last year and also about a year ago started having Abscences which did respond to removing aspartame from her diet, however despite being careful with her diet have noticed some abscences again.
Just recently she has started to suffer with extreme fatigue and problems with her breathing (last 3 weeks) the local doctor has said she has `cheyne-shaw breathing' which is where she does 3 deep breaths and then subsequent get shallower and shallower until she has a short bout of apnea (stops breathing) and then returns to 3 deep breaths and so on. She has on Tuesday of this week been hospitalised with this as they suspected a blood clot but this has now been ruled out.
So we are now waiting for some more blood results, she is in hospital over the weekend and will see the doctor again on Monday. She is then going to ask about Lupus and see if they will do the ANA test and look more into it.
Has anyone on here had `cheyne-shaw breathing' with Lupus? Does this all sound like it could be Lupus?
Any advice would be greatful.

I suffer from shortness of breath they told me its from my ankylosing spondolitis, I too suffer from psoriatic arthristis as well.. I wish i could offer you some more support. I wish your wife the best....
You both have suffered and I pray that each day is better. Never look back. Learn from it and take one day. I wish yall all the happiness in the world.
