I'm so sorry for all of you dealing with this horrible condition.
I am going thru testing at this point.
Have not been diagnosed, just very worried after almost a year of steroids and other meds to clear up my left lung, now finally going for a scan next week.
The regular x-rays, 4 to be exact in a period of 4 months, and still no signs of clearing on my left lung.
Went for a breathing test this week.
When all the testings are done, I will be meeting my new doctor a pulmonologist from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I am here to learn and to give my support to all of you strugling with this insane condition.

should your scan show more testing is needed and you have questions please feel free to ask. But I hope you won't need to know anything about lung cancer.

Toddy, I cannot believe it, when I read your story and how they approched you, the same way they approched me.
My scan is this friday, and I can't wait to hear the results.
I am keeping possitive at this point.
I have already did 11 months of chemo in 2003-2004 so I know what to expect if the news is bad, but I always said that I would never go thru this again.
So I'll see what happens and see what they suggest, if it's bad.

Stage 1 grade 1 fibrosis of the liver.
During treatment I lost my voice off and on, and would choke at night, woke up unable to get my breathe back, until my young daughter 11 at the time, was trainned to bring me an ativan outside where I ran to, whenever this would happen at night.
So months after my tx, my RCN (research consultant nurse) who was in charge of me during treatment, called and noticed my voice was still very rough, and she urged me to talk to my PCP and ask to me refered to a throat specialist, she says it's not normal it's been almost a year you talk like this....
Forutunately the appointment was done quickly enough, so the instant the lady doctor inserted her small camera thru my nose, she saw the large tumour on my right vocal cord.
The surgery was schedual, and done, fortunately it wasn't cancerous.
So this was the reason I would wake up having lost my breath due to falling asleep on the open side of my throat, and this tumour which was 6cm had the right side of my throat blocked.
It all made sence now.
After experiencing this type of treatment, for my liver, I have always said that if I had to make a decision on getting chemo treatment I would never do it again.
I really, really hope and pray this is not serious, cause I would have a hard time going thru this again.

easy goes. I am in the same boat.
It is frustrating to be so sick and have to wait 8 weeks for the first available appointment.
I would think coughing up over a cup of frank blood every day would get me in sooner- but no. I wait.
Have you had a CT scan yet?
Sometimes these things show up better with contrast.
Mine went from a 3x5 to a multi plex.
Sleeping sitting up seems to take the pressure off and am able to breath with out feeling like I am drowning.
I found BENZONATE can help with that dratted cough.
Have you had a metabolic blood test to see how other systems are holding up?
cbc/w diff?
Vitamin b seems to help as well as other immune support vitamins. among other treatments I am self injecting vitamin b. (prescribed by my new doctor) I guess she knows I am in for the whole bannana and she is getting me ready.
Sounds like your docs are on the right tract.

Vitamin d, I just might mention this to my doctor.
My PCP has transfered my case to a lung specialist in Ottawa.
My appointment with this new doctor is June 13th.
