Hello everyone,

This is my first experience ever in a support group but I just really figured I'd like to talk to people that would understand what I feel. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year now and since the relationship started in high school I knew that his plan was to go off to college, and he did. I was very reluctant to start a relationship with him because I just never saw myself doing long distance with any one. I gave in eventually because I couldn't stop having feelings for him. He left around a month ago. Our relationship is one of the most amazing ones I've had because he and I really connect. He's the one person I am not afraid to be myself with and I can tell the same goes for him. This is a guy I am so in love with I can't ever imagine not being with him. Before he left we would hang out basically every single day. We are so close and so used to always seeing each other that I think the distance has taking a stronger hit because of that. I think the hardest part is that since he went away to college and I was not able to makes things feel as if they were harder for me. We were a couple that would hardly ever fight but as soon as he left I found myself getting more irritated at him. Any time he goes out with his friends or even talks about his amazing new adventures as a college student I feel like I am being left out and that he has this whole new life for himself. When he says he's going out somewhere I am always wondering with who because I don't know any of these new people while he knows all my friends because they are his too. I just feel paranoia creeping in stronger and feel as if I just can't handle the distance.
