The male best friend, if you trust her then you wouldn't be worried about her spending time with him. Males and females can be just friends with no attraction for each other in other ways.
Does she live with her mom and does her mom support her financially? If so, then it's her mom's house, her mom's rules. If that's a problem for her, she's 20 years old, she can move out and support herself and not worry about what her mom says.
When in a LDR, you have to learn to deal with disappointments, plans of getting together not working out, it's all a part of being in a LDR. I had plans of going to see my partner late September but I had to postpone those plans and I never got there until the end of October. He was disappointed but he was not angry at me at all because I had to cancel. I was disappointed too but that's the way things go at times with LDRs.
LDRs are difficult, you need to be able to handle dissapointments, handle missing each other, be able to deal with the downside of being in a LDR. If you can't handle these things and if you don't have 100% mutual trust in each other, you're probably better off not being in a LDR.
Unfortunately, if she's still dependent upon her mom, she has to abide by her rules. LDRs aren't for everyone and if you feel as if she's making excuses to not see you and that something may be going on with another guy, then it's for the best you know now before investing months or even years into her.
Best of luck to you in whatever you choose to do.
