This community is a place where you can share your long distance challenges and triumphs, vent, give long distance tips and ideas, or just get support from people like you who are going through the same thing. Whether you live a couple hours away or a couple continents away, the specific challenges that face a long distance relationship are unique and difficult.
So, my girlfriend and I met online (on neopets of all places) about 5 1/2 years ago. It was an instant friendship, and from that point on, there was not a day that went by (except for when one of us was away from a computer on a trip or something) that we didn't talk to each other. We eventually moved from neopets to email then skype.
We've been dating for 10 months, and we've wanted to meet in person before she goes off to college on the other side of the country. We were worried her mother wouldn't help with planning it out, since she typically puts things off, but finally she sat down and started planning things with her.
She'll be coming next month, and I'll get to have her with me for 5 days! I'm so excited! We plan to go to the zoo and make a pillow and blanket fort and have a movie marathon, and I'd like to introduce her to my friends, since they've heard so much about her...and she's going to cook for me, and it's going to be great. I can't wait! >3<

I just recently got into an LDR, but we've been friends online for a long time, and we've talked on the phone for hours for around 3 years now.
Although I've never actually met her I feel a strong connection, and in August for my birthday I get to go see her for the very first time, and we've got fun stuff planned out, and I am just so excited. Just wanted to talk with someone who shares the same situations as me.
