Hi,

I was in a long distance relationship with a guy from Ireland for 4 years. He kept saying he was coming, but then something would get in the way. He lived with his Mom. We had 2 week visits a couple times a year and they were really good. My kids liked him and he adored them. I loved his family too. But, it was always hard to know I had 4 or 5 months without him. I used to go on Skype when it was convenient for him even if it was dinner time here. Anyway...his Mom died last year...I went over and was with her and him when she died. I'm glad I could be there. I truly did love him and I think he loved me. He had a rough year of grieving and decided to get the house ready for renting so that he could come here. He came in early June.
For lots of reasons, living together didn't work out. We both wanted it to and expected it to. He broke it off on Friday right after the kids and I got back from a short Nova Scotia trip. I'm sad, and missing having a relationshiop, and missing hugs and kisses and someone to talk to every day but I knew in my heart, this summer, that I couldn't ever marry him and that there were too many things that weren't working.
