Long Distance Relationships (LDR) Support Group
This community is a place where you can share your long distance challenges and triumphs, vent, give long distance tips and ideas, or just get support from people like you who are going through the same thing. Whether you live a couple hours away or a couple continents away, the specific challenges that face a long distance relationship are unique and difficult.

We love each other, I am certain of that. But money or resources is our problem as well. We both are unstable. We both can't afford to fly. We are 8,592 miles apart. And plane tickets are sooo expensive! I am feeling so hopeless about it! I don't know what else to do. But I don't want to end our relationship as well just because we can't meet just yet right??
after reading your story including all the comments so far, I would first like to say that a period of three years suggests a strong connection between the two of you and judging by the fact that you have overcome those challenges indicates a level of resilience that only substantiates the validity of your relationship. When you are young there is so much to take care of and I think the fact that your partner is studying indicates that he is serious about his future which is great news for down the track. Don't give up on your love! I can relate to what you are going through as my situation also holds obstacles to bridging the distance but we are both committed and very positive about a future reunion. Putting a plan in place should be a priority though, as this will help to give you both peace of mind and stamina to carry on. When will he finish his studies? If the finish line is in clear sight, the rest of your plan might gradually fall into place. In the meantime you might want to consider opening a savings or Paypal account in both your names in which you each deposit an affordable percentage of your incomes, to keep it fair. Doing something like this together where you are both held accountable and working towards your end goal should keep your spirits up and eventually turn your wish into reality. Mind you, mutual trust needs to be 100% solid for this to work... I hope my feedback was helpful to you. All the best.
@BraveDances, well he will finish probably next year. But ofcourse he still needs to get a job first and save right? Same goes with me. Eventhough I am working already, I got bills to pay and I'm helping my family. So saving up will really take time. We can't do anytjing about it.
And the Joint paypal account siggestion sounds good to me but I don't know how that workz
I understand that LDRs are expensive and not everyone has the luxury to travel all the time. I have bills to pay too and a house that I shared with my family that i have to pay for, also my student loans. my current job, is enough to make it every month
I've recently taken up a second job so that I'll have some extra pocket money to save up to visit my partner. I work on the weekends at starbucks, and it's tiring but I feel it will be worth it.
I need to let go of what's hurting me eventhough it's killing me to let go.
Thank you in advance!
With love,
Kristi
