Hello LDR community!
My name is Tyler, and I have been a member of this site for a long time now, and I recently got into an (LDR) with a girl, she lives in NY & I live in California which is far away, but never really let that stop me, and I am really happy about it. Well my grandfather recently invited me to go visit him he lives in New York & I took the opportunity & meanwhile visiting my grandpa I could meet my "girlfriend" for the very first time. This will be my first ever time meeting someone who I've met on-line. I am very nervous...but I don't think I would be doing this if I didn't think it was something special. I just hope that the feeling is mutual, but I will never know what to expect.
The best part is I will be seeing her around the same time my birthday falls on August 26th - so I just hope that is memorable & special because I will never forget it that's for sure.
As a lot of people on here may know I was in a relationship of 4 1/2 years with my ex girlfriend she was my best friend through-out high school & I was crushed when she left me...so this will be my first time "moving on" so to speak. I haven't really dated outside much of all the dates I've had with my ex which I was comfortable with her & now I will just be sooo nervous & I will be in NYC!...by myself!! and I am just really trusting the fact that she has a fun week planned which I have no doubts about. it will be my first time in the city & that's a huge bonus I get to see new things & stuff. I also get to go watch my grandfathers softball games apperently he's pretty good so I am excited to watch that. lol
I know I am expecting a ton of challenges, but with her I truly believe something special can happen. On the phone with her today I had to make some difficult choices, and sacrifice things for the relationship I am so willing to do them too.
On a more serious note: I honestly thought for the longest time after my relationship ended that I would never fall in love again, and I was convinced I wouldn't...then she comes into my life, and everything has been better for me. It been a true miracle to me even through calling / texting / online-relationship...
Has there been any people who have ever meet the person they married online? Does that ever happen?
I would appreicate it if you could share any tips or advice for meeting with my girlfriend for the very first time! It will be very special to me, just want it to be a success! :)
