I'm new to the group and am hoping to find someone to talk to and get advice from because I have literally no one in my life I can really talk to about these things. So here it goes.
I ended a 2 and a half year relationship about a month and a half ago. I was very unhappy with him, I felt emotionally abused, his actions that I put up with for over two years finally made my huge love for him diminish and finally vanish. I couldn't handle it anymore and I broke up with him. He has his faults but I still wanted him to be a friend. He was my only friend for the last two years and without him I have no one. I went from having someone I talked to all day every day for over two years, to being completely alone just hoping my phone will ring, constantly checking it hoping for a text. Hoping for anything from anyone. He replaced me pretty quickly, finding a new girlfriend only a few weeks after we broke up and wanted to make sure I knew how much better than me she is. He breaks my heart with his words almost every time we have talked since the split, but I can't find the will to just block him and remove him from my life. He was such a huge part of my life for over two years and now that he's gone, I have no one, and I'm still clinging to him because I don't want to be alone, despite how much he has hurt me. I'm finding it really hard to adjust. I'm confused, depressed, alone. I don't know what to do or where to go from here...

Hey there, I know that it's hard and I completely understand where you're coming from. We as women have a tendency to drop our whole lives and completely change for love. I am very guilty of this, many times over. I know it may not feel real great to hear but he has given you a great gift. He has given you the lesson to respect yourself and your life more. He was your only friend, I am going to guess you had friends before you were with him and slowly they fell out of your life because your energies all went to him and his needs and your relationship. This is a good time and a great chance to learn that you can't do that. He came into your life because of who you were independently from him and then you and your life became all about him and that change can be unattractive after awhile especially if feelings of resentment and bitterness start to come out. Those are completely natural reactions, especially when you're trying to build a relationship with someone whose behaviors hurt you instead of feeling like equal reciprocations to your efforts. This is your time to rebuild! This is your time to learn and find yourself again. I'm here for you.
