Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears."
It seems like there are two separate issues.
1. Turning down someone specific.
2. Being unavailable overall.
You wrote, "there are some things about her that don't really fit into my lifestyle." So maybe it was a good decision to turn this specific opportunity down. Or not. It's not clear, but I wouldn't immediately strike it down as a bad decision to decline.
Time is really the most precious thing we have. Spending time with people who are not compatible is worse than spending time alone (in my opinion) because it can be draining. Also wastes time. Valuing your time is good.
As far as being unavailable overall-- first you should think about the kind of people you would like in your life-- their interests and their emotional qualities.
Are you the kind of person that they would find compatible?
Are you pushing these kinds of people away?
Or are you just not actively seeking these type out?
You wrote in your second post about bad dreams. This is completely understandable after doing a tour of war. Thank you for your service.
can you explain why to me please? you welcome to message me privately, thank you.
