Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
sorry if I sound obnoxious here.
I have spent 4 years learning how to be a best friend to myself.
Other people do not control my happiness.
While we can simply be "me in my own space", there is something about the comfort of family.
My sisters and I get along very well, but we live in different cities and are always working. My parents live close. One on one with me, and we get along fine. Put the 3 of us together and it's a difficult dynamic. My mother's hyper, workaholic, leap-frogs easily from one subject to another and yet is extremely analytical, my dad is a bit more relaxed, more of a linear surface-oriented thinker, more methodical but equally intense and equally obsessive-compulsive.
My brother used to be the one who levelled us all out. Now he's no longer here, deceased, so my family and I have been feeling and acting a bit more wacky, to say the least.
Yes, I'd like to chill with someone like you!
In simple english, I"m glad you expressed yourself and hope if it made you feel better you'll do it more often.
I am currently surrounded by people I have no desire to hug, so I actually am feeling like a hug would be the last thing I would want from a person. My version of giving a person a hug who isn't a big hugger is to give them a hug from a distance by staying away from them. Everyone deserves and needs more hugs.
Here's a hug from me.
I wonder of the amount of coins I would have after a couple hours?
How many people would take the hug offered and feel better for it?
More importantly, how would I feel after those same affirmations?
I actually have I picture I will post on my profile of me holding a sign saying "free hugs"...only, it is in Danish. I did it along with some students, to put me out of my comfort zone, It went well. Of course there are people who try to avoid eye contact, but then there were people who would come back for seconds.
What I am really looking for though, is someone who knows how I am feeling, the situations I am in, and just want to comfort me for as long as I like. My parents know me so well, and I think that is part of the reason why I miss their hugs so much.
Here short cut to my pic. (I drew with me mouse in paint)

I also don't want hugs from strangers or people I'm not particularly close to. My personal bubble is pretty wide if I don't know you. It took me a while to even get comfortable with random roommie hugs. I really just wish I had a close relationship with someone who could just hug me for while and make everything feel like it's going to be ok. I don't have anyone in my life that I'm that close to.
Tehdreamer: I am glad you can relate - well, not glad, because I know how crappy this feels, but I hope you know what I mean. I too, need a someone who is close, and will just hug me. I wish you luck on finding that special hugging friend, for I am on that quest as well. =)
