I saw a Star Trek episode a month ago, then just this evening. :)
Mmm :) . :)

Am just now coming to accept there is something slightly hoakey in some or all of this series. Yes Virginia, a few things in this Spock and Captain Kirk show are hard to believe.

just a few? I think the fact that they can transporter from ship to where they want to go is a little hokey....and that these ships can take direct hits from phazers and photon bombs and still keep on rocking thru the universe....

but not to mention the inhabitable planets that they can go to and not need space suits too....hum...:-)

And the fact that there is OXYGEN to breathe on all these strange, exotic worlds.

A certain wide-eyed wonder and willingness to suspend disbelief is needed to enjoy these shows. Trek, like Wars, isn't science fiction. It's space fantasy. The important thing with Trek is Roddenberry created a hopeful picture for humanity (and extraterrestrials) living and working together in harmony.

ps. I was enjoying some 'Lost in Space' sometime in the last few weeks. Little Will Robinson used an alien space craft/crash thingy and ported himself to Earth. Only problem was, no one woujld call Mission Control for him! lol poor kid.

I never understood why if they could transport themselves via particle beam to the surface of a planet, how come they didn't just work on perfecting that for space travel. Instead they kept using those junky space craft to haul their butts around.

Well..., Sara; I don't know. That spaceship, admittedly out-of-date in design, is IMO important for glamour effect

Maybe like.a SUV made by Ferarri? Or Hummer with fins....

My mom bought several cars with fins. They were never glamorous nor logical, they were junk that kept breaking down once a week. Just like the Starship E..."Get us out of here Scottie!"
