Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
Consider just accepting your situation and not fighting any more. Pick only those bills that keep the house warm and food on the table. College will have to wait - it will still be there when you are in a position to pick it up again. What were you studying?
What physical exercises are you doing? Start walking for 20 minutes a minimum of three times a week.
How is your diet? Review the nasties that you are putting in your gut to rot and lie there, feeding gunk into your brain and arteries. Cut back on the really nasty ones. Drink lots of water.
Find someone to help, someone in a worse position than you (if that is possible). You can help them online, in person, offer them a room, etc. Craigslist has a section for sublets wanted - someone like you may be looking for a helping hand. If you can, reach yours out.
Throw out the TV - it will rot your brain. Read a good book. I would recommend 'The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire' either as a doorstop or a way to cure insomnia. Use music to distract you. Write in a journal your deepest, darkest thoughts. Admit them, let into the light. Some fade, starved of darkness.
Find a buddy here on DS, someone that you feel comfortable with - ask via a post - and read through the responses. Not everyone is a good fit but hey, it is worth a try.
I am assuming that you do not drink alcohol. Oh go on then, you can have a hot toddy on those dreich winter nights. But only one.
Come here daily and check with us.
Yes, college may have to wait yet again. But I'm getting older now and feel like it is getting too late. I am in the Practical Nursing Program, part-time.
I have been getting out more for walks with the nicer weather. I usually listent to music while I walk. My diet is okay. It is not great and could use improvement, especially since I am now diabetic...thanks to good ole seroquel, which I need for my severe anxiety.
I have thought of getting a boarder but with two teenagers all the bedrooms are being used and the basement is a mess with mice.
I don't watch much TV anymore because I have been so busy with school. I tend to spend a lot of time on here and other websites.
I also have started journaling again. I had stopped but find the need again.
No I don't drink anymore. Makes me too loopy with my meds and really I can't afford it. I do still smoke cigarettes, and have been wanting to quit again, but my head isn't in the right place, like it was when I have quit before. It seems they are my unhealthy crutch.
