Hopefully this is true. But there is doing well and doing well. The other day someone said to me wow, you are amazing me and went on and on because I had gone on a diet and lost some weight. I found it very patronising.As though I was some stupid bored unemployed person or housewife who had never achieved a thing before, and as if nobody else in the World had ever gone on a diet and lost a lot of weight. And of course the person saying this to me had never achieved a thing, so they thought that losing some weight was a huge thing and assumed there was nothing else I could do - IF only she knew.

I am sure this person didn't have negative intentions. I think you are getting trapped by cognitive distortions. It isn't easy to fight them, but recognizing you are doing them is a good first step!

Sorry but you are wrong. You do not know the situation or the person. I do not have delusions of any sort.

Clearly, I do not then. I just try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and always try to understand where people are coming from and why they do certain things. Regardless of whether someone 'accomplishments', I believe that shouldn't discredit someone as a person and what they say.

You dont need to give them the benefit of the doubt if you understand them and the situation - that is guessing. I dindt need to guess. When I say someone was talking down to me that is how it was, As I was there and know the person I think I would know that.

Some people are idiots and losers. I know, I have come across many. But please dont assume that everyone on this site fits into the category of needing advice and help about simple easy things. Today I have eight clients who come to me for help and advice.
Thankfully they never think that maybe I need advice, and I dont. Not when it comes to people.

I would need advice about how to build a house or how a car engine works, but I think that applies to most women. I more than make upfor it with other thngs most women cannot do and know nothing about.

Sorry to offend. We have radically different views, and that's ok. I like to help people too. If you don't want help, fine. I won't try to give advice if it is just going to make you upset. I don't support hate, and I am just speaking for myself here, but I believe this site isn't really a good place to air dirty laundry about other people. Just a thought. Good luck on finding friends.

See you are doing it again, assuming you can help me. You cannot. Firstly I do not need advice from anyone. If I needed advice about people I would go to a true expert. Not someone who assumes they know better than me and guesses. They call that, in therapy circles, externalising. Instead of you helping yourself and concentrating on improving your own life and problems you try to force unwanted advice on others and assume that you know better than them. I could understand it if I was a stupid person, unemployed, pennilness, and you were more successful than me, but why assume you know more than me? ASSUMING that you know this woman who spoke to me and understand her better than me is really big headed as well as insulting my intelligence.

As for me saying that someone spoke down to me and got it wrong that is hardly airing dirty laundry. Dirty laundry is scandals,l breaking the law, slander about a particular person where you say who they are. So get it right.
Again you are giving advice ! I own four websites. I know all about how forums work. I know the law better than you. So do not need that advice.

I wish you luck and happiness. But I dont need luck. I have a very successful business, a loving partner, none of which is down to luck, it is down to hard work and making the right decisions. Later today I am interviewing people to work for me as junior therapists, and I will soon be able to work out which are smart enough and have the right attitude to be offered the job - without any advice from anyone. hmmm, I wonder why such a successful individual as the OP is on a Loneliness Support Group forum seeking real friends. I am sure that such an accomplished person would have plenty of real friends. Oh well.

Shows what you know. When you work very long hours and the people you usually speak to and meet are all clients and staff it is not that simple. And then you have those who just want to ask you for money or free consultations. But you woudlnt know would you. You dont know much about me at all, you say successful person because I own 4 websites and interviewed people to work for me, there is a lot more you do not know and never will. i.e. I was once again asked to do a series for BBC television recently. And had another book published in March. Glad there are a few people here I am enjoying getting to know. But those who have replied to me so far here I am ignoring/.blocking. Life is too short.
