Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

my evil mom, only once or twice, did at least point out that she met my worthess dad in a bar, re my dad being oh so religious, while also disappearing to bars ALL DAY on Saturday.
According to this article and other articles: dad thought having a kid would be a good legal excuse to get him off death row! And mom, after being molested all her life, thought having a kid with a death row inmate, and naming the boy "Justus" would make some statement about the couple being "outsiders".
This is certainly an extreme example, but I cant imagine the poor boy of this article having a happy life of lots of nice friends.
And whoever raises him, will keep his parents a secret, so he further cant figure out any loneliness he might feel?
18 years from now this kid could be on this very site, with a 'who gives a flip" about his long ago past of 18 years ago?
I guess the life journey is how to overcome as best we are able.
I just hope the poor kid has other family or good adoptive parents. Then there may be hope.
obvious to me that sever who posted here are on that nurture side as a cause of their troubles in life....
At least you were born with ten toes and ten fingers and somewhat good looks I suppose....I sure was...LOL
My parent situation was not horrific unless the father image is dramafied...my dad was a super conservative German and a fist of steel for his will being done...I rebelled and drank at early age to fit in with my social group....friends....then I rebelled into smoking pot and other drugs came along as I bounced along the bottom of my dear Dad's graces....he did not appreciate my lifestyle choices...we fought like cats and dogs...
but one thing I will say...he loved me....he helped me get help when I went nuts from drugs....I mean by helping it became his financial responsibility to pay for my medical care and he had good insurance because he worked as brokerage manager for Prudential Insurance Co.
For that I love my father even with our fighting...
end of my side of this one...

I also think of jaycee dugard, who was kidnapped, raped, and had 2 daughters from her rapist/kidnapper, with the 3 of them having grown up together, in a tent. They probably will be unable, for the rest of their lives, to be away from one another for even a few hours, cause of how they grew up together.
I keep on wanting to "re-wire" and "un-learn" what my brain went through in the past.
in the last few weeks, I have come to kinda accept the schizo-affective label my therapists have put on me...and although I had a uncle with full blown schizophrenia, who spent his entire adult life in a mental hospital, I think my possible lesser mental illness came from environment more than genes.
you are very lucky that you did have a father that supported you...my alcoholic parents hated me for being stone sober till age 21...? that's just one of the crazy things I've come to wonder about, in my old age.
I was born? with a ten degree curvature of the spine, which my 6th grade teacher made sure to remark about when I was standing in front of her desk, in front of the class....and which my cold hearted parents seemed to have been ashamed of.
"anatomy is destiny" freud quote does explain my youthful isolation.
