Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

I'm an introvert, as I'm guessing many here are, but being an introvert doesn't mean I want to be alone all the time. I've always struggled with loneliness, and having just moved to a new state, it's gotten a whole lot worse.
I'm working from home for a company I've worked for 9 years. Yesterday, they had a BBQ and a dunking booth, and today, my top level organizational group is having a game day. And I'm here in my unfinished basement shooing away moths. I'm really sad and wish I were there, but it's an 8 hour drive away.
I haven't found anywhere to connect to people yet. I have a really hard time getting out on a good day, and things keep coming up, like urgent problems with our new house or me or my family getting sick.
I told my husband how cooped up I was feeling, so we took our girls and went out to dinner about two weeks ago. But the place we went had only one other couple on the other side of the wall there, so it was barely different from being home by ourselves, and the food wasn't that great, and it cost a lot. So I felt guilty for asking to go out.
I really want to go dancing with my husband, but again, something keeps coming up. And I've asked to go to a game shop he found and where he made friends (he had to move here about 3 months before we could join him), but either something comes up or he just doesn't seem interested in going there. I don't know what is going on. There's a small part of me that thinks maybe that was "his" thing and he doesn't want me there.
I'm really sad today. I really miss friends. I don't want to work. I don't have a lot of work right now, which I struggle with, doing best with a solid workload, plus I know everyone I might need to ask questions of are all playing games today.
I don't know what to do. :(

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

The plus side of moving - all new places to see. State parks are still nearly free. Hopefully you can meet a few people before winter - a long time off, but after last winter, not long enough, for me. The library usually has classes/events and community info. If you don't meet people who are looking for friends, you have a family, friends from home, and new friends to be made on D S.
Your husband may like having his group of friends and keeping them separate. It isn't personal, usually.
Hope things are better tomorrow, and continue to improve.
