I tend to avoid my family around holidays and birthdays. Nothing says you HAVE to celebrate if it's that bad.

What if you spoil yourself, go have a nice lunch and do something 'you' like to do. :)

First I would suggest that you go out and find some volunteer work or just go visit the elderly in a senior home or children in a hospital..do for others today and I think you might find yourself feeling like getting yourself a cupcake-go out for a meal-buying yourself a special gift!

You do not have to make a big deal out of the day if you do not want, if it will cause you pain. It's your choice whether you decide to celebrate or not. What you choose this year has no bearing on what you choose next year or the year after.

Regardless, I wish you a happy birthday.

Next summer I guess I'll give myself a birthday party. (I don't remember any since my 7th..) We'll work on this. I'll write it in my notebook. Things to figure out like who will try to come over & spoil it. (They get to go to the fake party hehe.)

Thank you to everyone who wished my a happy birthday. I still have 8 hours and a half to celebrate my day and I chose to spend it here. It's horrible as usual but I'm trying to let it pass.
