Just throw yourself into something that you are interested in - exercise, hobbies, reading, and become really accomplished at it. No one can take care of you better than you can.
Whatever is going on in your life, you can do the best you can for yourself with what you have to work with. When you care too much about what other people think, you're giving them power over you - most people don't handle power very well.
