Loneliness- power for decision

Hello! I found this support group and I wanted to ask for an advice. I have been alone for my entire life, I have not had a real relationship and for sure loneliness has hit me up sometimes. Because of the fact of not having a lot of dates, now I found myself insecure to date.


I am an overweight woman, I feel good with my body, I think I am pretty and I keep healthy life as much as I can. I have learned to do things alone such as going to thr movies, traveling and going on a restaurant. Right now I have an invitation to go out, but I am afraid I finish hurted because of my weight. I feel good with what I am, but I am scared I open my space to this person and that he hurts the feelings and "security" I have built since years ago.


How can I let things go and face reality? I know the worst thing would be we would not like the date. But my mind is still located in the confort zone. If there is a fat girl here or a guy dating one, I would love tips for getting confident on a relationship and trust on the guy is inviting me out.

Personally for me size never mattered because I fell for their personality. As for dating it doesn’t matter if your big,small, the prettiest person in the world you can still get hurt, you just need to let the relationship blossom

Absolutely agree with brandnewangel. Your size or appearance really doesn't matter.

The most physically attractive person in the room can become very ugly as soon as they open their mouth.

You've built a wonderful life for yourself and it takes strength and self confidence to do that alone - it's scary to be vulnerable, but if you feel this person is worthy of your time, share a little of that life you've built - it'll be one of the most beautiful qualities you have!

You will attract men/women who are happy with how you look and who you are. So if a man/woman asked you out on a date, that means they are interested in you. Of course, there are the nefarious actors out there but I am focused on normal people here. If this person invited you out but it is not a date, then don't even worry about dates. If you are happy with your body, then you have to not obsess over what other people may think. It is much too early on this first invitation to worry about getting hurt or lowering your guard. My opinion is your role is to listen and observe the person, don't go in with rose colored glasses. Pay attention to them and forget about your own insecurities. You need to know who they are and how they are and if your mind is so strung up about yourself, how you look, does he/she like me, then you will miss the red flags and big clues. Just go and enjoy yourself and take it one step at a time. The first date, if this is a date, is always kind of awkward and nerve racking. For the other person, too. Just enjoy and take the pressure off.

I have a gf who is morbidly obese....we tried sexual stuff but it did not work....she is too big....so I decided to stop trying to be sexual....it hurt her alot I know because she felt she needed intimacy and we do not have that now....she is at least 450lbs....it was not easy to let go of my shame about her being as fat as she is but not so hard when I gave up trying to have sex with her as expected I did not really feel physically attracted to her....it got easier to just stay friends.....and we do kiss still but just not trying to have physical relations....

I think just excepting yourself as you are. Keep in mind, everyone has defects of some sort but they may be hidden. Nobody is perfect, trust me. Even gorgeous models have things hidden on the film so others will believe she is perfect...Be proud of who you are and be excepting of yourself and let your personality shine through and you will attract many good men!
