Officials at the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition said there are three shelters open during the summer for the homeless to seek refuge from the scorching sun:
- Catholic Charities: 1511 N. Las Vegas Blvd. in Las Vegas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for men only
- The Salvation Army: 33 W. Owens Ave. in North Las Vegas from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for adults only
- The Shade Tree: 1 W. Owens Ave. in North Las Vegas from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for women and children only
Officials said more cooling shelters will open during the worst of the heat wave:
- Islamic Society of Nevada: 4730 E. Desert Inn Rd. in Las Vegas from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday only
- Walnut Recreation Center: 3075 N. Walnut Rd. in Las Vegas from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Pearson Community Center: 1625 W. Carey Ave. in Las Vegas from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Hollywood Recreation Center: 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd in Las Vegas from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Dula Gymnasium: 441 E. Bonanza Rd. in Las Vegas from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Stupak Community Center: 251 W. Boston Ave. in Las Vegas from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Cambridge Recreation Center: 3930 Cambridge St. from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Black Mountain Recreation Center: 599 Greenway Rd. in Henderson from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- Valley View Recreation Center: 500 Harris St. in Henderson from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
- American Legion Richard Springston Post 60: 1510 Bruce Woodbury Dr. in Laughlin from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday only
- Colorado River Food Bank: 240 Laughlin Civic Dr. in Laughlin from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday and Tuesday only
The forecast temperatures fall short of records, however. The record high for Las Vegas on Sunday is 112 degrees, which was set last year. On Monday, the record high is 111 degrees set in 1985.
Southern Nevada could be in for a long, hot summer. According to the Climate Prediction Center, the Southwest is expected to see above average temperatures for the next three months.

Thanks Pinterest: You are a doll. I'm happy someone came up with doable situations to help her. I do not know heretic well enough to know if her listed location is where she really lives.
Hopefully she is able to check out these places. The library will be closed today. She may not be able to get the list until tomorrow.
Let's all hope and pray she gets safely through another day and gets the help she so desperately needs.

I was kicked out of the parking spot I had at a grocery store last night and do not know where I will sleep tonight. The only places left are side streets which are very unsafe. I am really scared.
I don't know how much longer i will last. I wish I was dead everyday. Thank you to all the kind people who care.
