Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
sad and angry. I don't use social media - other than DS - because
I don't want to know how others are doing. It hurts to much. I have
no friends at all, no family either, I am completely alone.
I'm glad you are eating healthier and congrats on the new puppy.
As far as getting new friends I'm probably not the one to ask. But
you could try volunteering or meetup.com. People seem to have
good results using those methods. I don't know why people who
treat you badly get the best of everything, but it's happened to me
too, It really sucks, Send me a message if you want to talk. Hugs
In terms of my ex, he seems to exude such sad, negative energy. When he is with people he seems to only talk about the bad stuff. He is also very needy. He will do ANYTHING to have someone to socialize with, and he will go out of his way to do so. When he socializes with women, he gives SO MUCH that there is no thrill in the chase for the woman. She has everything right up front.
My point is, people can feel the sadness, they can feel the negativity, and sometimes people don't want to be around that. That isn't our fault for feeling that way, but it's just the way some people will react to our sadness/negative moods.
My ex hasn't ever realized this in spite of the fact that I talked to him about it a hundred times when we were together. I got it, and I sought every opportunity and avenue to get myself help, to deal with my self esteem, confidence and bullying issues I had. That's not to say my life is perfect. I still have lonely moments, as I am going through some major health issues that are bringing me down....but I am removing myself from the social world a bit, so I can deal with it.
My thought here is, find a way to take care of yourself. Deal with some of the residual hurt feelings that you have. If you have confidence/esteem issues, find a way to treat that through therapy or something. The idea here is to recognize what you have control over, which is you, and take care of you. Once you take care of you, finding comfort within, the RIGHT people will naturally be attracted to your soul, and want you in their lives.
You DO deserve to have everything you want, but remember, it can't always come from outside of you. Sometimes taking care of you from the inside will help match to something outside of you.
I don't know if that helps or not. Like I said, it's just my perspective from my experience. The things you expressed were familiar to me, because I've been there, and so I wanted to share my observations. I hope that you are able to find some peace in these moments! *HUGS*
Congratulations on the puppy!
Do you have all the education you want? Nothing fills your time
like college classes. Exhausted people are definitely less lonely.
If your old friends aren't making time for you, all you can do is accept it and move on.
Are there any social groups that you can join? A gym? Do they have Zumba classes where you are? Can you walk your puppy yet, in a park?
If you make it your job to figure out what you would most enjoy doing - and the possibilities are unlimited - you'll figure something out.
