I'm 29, I live in Phoenix az, I've always been a black sheep.. I grew up in a religious family and was never religeous myself.. I partied and did a lot of drugs when I was younger and that just made my family even more distant... As well as some stuff from my childhood that left me with trust issues and resntment from my family for things I had no control over... I honestly feel like I have the hugest heart in the world and don't understand how my own family can just toss me aside bc of things that were out of my hands..I just got out of a relationship that started off really good but since we both had similiar issues we butted heads too much in the end to keep going... If someone that has the same problems as me isn't right for me and people that don't haven't ever made me feel understood where does that leave me... Would like someone to talk to that understands.. I'm always happy to hear your problems and be supportive too, that actually is always comforting to me as a man to feel like I'm taking care of someone else... If anyone want to talk message me or just write back I suppose...

One thing I learned is in therapy and with age is that my family is emotionally sick. I don't know why but it is just the way it is and that I can't change them. I tried and tried for most of my life to be someone they wanted but it was never enough.
Last year, my mother sent me an email and ordered me to sign some papers and at that point something inside of me was done. I have had it. So I had to let go. It has been rough and lonely but I feel more at peace. Now I need to look at myself and get to know myself.
Thank you for letting me share.
My mother is also, in my opinion, jealous of me and what I'm doing with my life. I don't work outside of the house. I have held jobs, not for the money, but to help friends out and keep away the boredom of being home alone all day. We live a comfortable life. She however has had to work for 30 plus years just to make ends meet and can't retire yet. I get to go on vacations, we own half of a cabin, my kids get music lessons and have had braces (neither of which my parents approved of).
Do I wonder if I'm loved? Some days...yes. At least I have my hubby and kids to take care of and hopefully love me
One cannot forget the family one grew up in completely. However ya' can get close to that . ;-)
Possibly you learned something with this last relationship? --You said the two of you are similar -- regarding certain rejection or ... issues. So maybe you'll meet someone who doesn't particularly care, um I mean doesn't notice real lots. Rejection reschmection, it goes right past them.
Am thinking of a type person who on occasion can do something appearing like rejection, from an objective point of view. But when confronted about it doesn't feel guilty. Because it was unintentional. . . . . . . . . 'nuff guff; . . . good luck . (((( A. ))))
It really doesn't matter who I use to be. all that matters is who I have become.
Try to remember that.
I am truly sorry that your parents are treating you like they are. What do we have if we don't have family that stands by us through the worst of times? So, if you don't have real family there, let us be your family. Hugs GB
