Hi Penn: Years ago when I divorced from my husband and my apartment building was being sold, I asked a person from work if they knew any places in town that were good, safe and dependable for myself and son. She told me that apartments at the one place were very good.

I moved in and it didn't take long to find out that a drug dealer was coming and servicing all the neighbors and I was the only one not doing drugs. Keep in mind that the drug buyers had kids. It was sick and sad. the place was also so badly infested with roaches and you couldn't see it when I visited because they had just painted wtih stinky paint and it kept them away.

After so many sprayings for the roach infestation, my son was so sick from the pesticides and I gave the place a letter from my son's pediatrician who was treating him for all this, and I vacated the place and my son and went to live in the apartment over my Dad. I realized that using the co-worker as a supposed good point of reference was not a good idea. They were horrible apartments and I would never recommend anyone go there.

I moved to a rural town almost a year ago and thought it would be
a good place to live. All they do is watch each other and gossip.

I'm glad I haven't lived here my whole life.

I live in urban jungle and do not know many of my neighbors...I am sober and I keep my place up...I rent a house....the others around me keep their places up too...the nieghbor across the street seems to me to not be nice guy but is not trouble either...he put the L on forehead when I moved in and introduced myself to him...the L for Loser...which sent me a message....and I cannot seem to figure out what his name is now either....the neighbors on both sides on my side of street are nice...one is black family with older and younger children and the guy next door is banker who is owner of house and single living alone....I do know few more nieghbors but not well...seems I have nice neighborhood....I am actually thinking and trying to buy a house caddy corner from me for $29,900 it is tiny like mine but smaller...LOL I haven;t seen inside yet....want to get financing in place before spinning wheels on that aspect of interests....

I posted this cause I shoveled my landlord's sidewalk----which to one drunken tenant is the worst sin I could commit. Of course, they are usually back on their rent, and ruin the building, while I try to take care of the landlord's property and am very glad for the kindness the landlord and landlady have shown all-alone me.

I'm glad the lowlife idiot who lived in a small cottage behind me is dead----he set his place on fire when he was evicted.

kinda figures for me to go from that house in my youth, to where i'm now living in my old age.

I live in a low rent apt complex and am surrounded by drunks and drug users. Few people here seem to have a job, it's demoralizing, but I just stay inside my apt and try not to think about it

yeah, i miss the good days when i was growing up in a middle class neighborhood, where you knew your neighbors for decades and they were your dear friends...doesn't seem to happen that way too much anymore...and it is lonely, that's for sure.
