Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. Where do I live? Florida...go figure.
What caused my nightmares? Some thoughtless person that made a comment to my sister and I when we were little that if we did not behave the boogie man would put us in a bag and take us to throw us in the lake with the alligators.
decades ago, I would have dreams in which I could kinda fly, though only a couple feet off the ground, and only for a few seconds.
blondie61,
a nyc tv channel for decades, has shown, for Christmas, "march of the wooden soldiers", which has a scene of laurel and hardy fighting off the boogie men, and alligators----I wonder how many kids, over the decades, had nightmares from that Christmas movie
you're welcome.
as my own therapy, I've bought used dvds online, of movies that I've only seen when I was growing up, hoping for them to remind me of what I was thinking/felt back then, and have maybe foced myself to forget.
I always have stressful dreams though. Always. Good dreams are super rare. I think I deal with the stress of my waking life through my dreams.
One type of dream that I have often is trying to use any form of electronic communication. In my dreams, I'm online trying to type to someone and I'm unable to for some reason. Or trying to make a phone call or send a text and I can't/ don't know how to use the keypad anymore... To me, it's a symbol of how hard it is for me to communicate with people in my waking life. Ironically, it's easier for me to communicate verbally than it is for me to type my feelings and thoughts :P
I've always been about escape, including running away from home when I was a teen, so I should have had lots more flying dreams....though my flying dreams in which I could barely get off the ground, probably says a lot.
I'm so used to stressful dreams, I don't know if they would count as nightmares, though maybe they would to somebody else.
The dream this morning means that recently you tried to take control of your life. You tried to take the lead in some way. It may not have gone as you planned. So you were embarrassed.
I fantasize About someone sincerely wanting to be with me, love me, accept my son and is genuine about it.
I fantasize about not having to go to bed alone. Someone who will lay next to me; a man whom I can call my husband, a man who will treat me with kindness & respect.
I've had dreams where I've been involved in some type of criminal activity, like a bank heist. Been watching too many crime movies and Law & Order shows, I guess.
I've had dreams where I've been tempted into some sort of sexual activity, and then thinking "this must be a dream" and I wake up. Sexual repression.
I've had dreams where I'm homicidal and chasing someone to murder them, or a homicidal maniac is chasing me! Weird, huh?
I had a dream where a giant tiger was crawling on my face with its giant paws and claws scratching me...only to wake up and realize it was the cat!
I've had dreams where I'm hanging out with my deceased brother on the other side. Those are the best...so peaceful and wonderful. Guess there's some "unfinished business" there, or we're both just lonely and missing hanging out with each other.
I've spent too much of my life fantazing about a happier alternate past.
thankfully, its been decades since I had any high school dreams, with the one I most remember having me stand up in class and say: I don't have to take this crap any longer!
yes, I definitely don't feel control in my waking life, with me trying and trying to get over that idea.
