Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
i am not looking for any advice but just looking for some emotional support. Thanks to everyone for being so kind.
I wrote on here not long ago about my lonely life. Tonight I sit here bawling my eyes out as i have nobody here to share my pain. I am completely alone. I called a couple of crisis lines to share my pain and the first one was completely useless- the guy kept telling me to have hope and make plans for the future when I was merely trying to express my deep sorrow. I called a second. The guy at least listened to me but then kicked me off the line because he had other calls. Pretty much all of my friends live in another country. I have been dealing with a lot of crap on my own- including a toxic job in an area where I don't want to be in where I don't know anybody, and a relationship breakup with my fiancé and partner of nearly 11 years. None of my friends have actually allowed me to call them up and cry about it. Nobody asked me how I was feeling. I have been dealing with it alone. I feel like my life is meaningless. I am unimportant and unvalued. I'm just a cog in a wheel, an organism existing in the ecosystem, a thing that is just there on the earth. Nobody has time for me. But when they needed someone, I was there. I sent them cards, spent hundreds on postage to send packages overseas on birthdays, Christmas, just because.. i checked in. I made a point to say every day that I cared, or most days at least. Now i am alone. Nobody cares. I am nobody's priority. I want to be needed and need to be important to someone. And I am not. So I continue to bawl. No hugs. No messages to say they care. I am alone. I honestly don't even care if I get COVID anymore. It could be a good thing.

The best antidepressant is when my wishes are honored. An example, the faucet in my apartment was running although the knobs were turned shut all the way, and one of the pulling strings on my ceiling fan came off. As soon as I notified my maintenance man, he was quick to reply with the work order. RAPID response... he's getting my services around my apartment done. I appreciate my landlord and...

Hello,so I'm currently in a weird relationship with my long distance ex who I've never met in person and it's taking a toll on me. I've lost 15 pounds and lost my appetite, but I'm really attached to him. We've had a lot of problems and I think that has caused me to gain severe anxiety. I don't know if I should wait until it gets better or what. Everytime I've blocked him, it has tend to make me...

but I hear you and understand
I know a woman who is well known and has been on television and radio many times, she has had books published, she owns a lot of successful businesses, her time is valuable and she is used to making big decisions, yet when she was feeling down and rang a crisis line they spoke to her as if she was some unemployed nobody who sat around doing nothing all day.
They said ah but if you go and do this you might meet other people and they might become friends.
As it was one of the things that kept her busy was running a large charity single handedly, so she was hardly going to apply to a charity in the hope of taking orders from someone with less experience and qualifications than her.
And the idea that she would make friends there ws ridiculous. The people would have immediately worked out who she is and as always nagged her for money or told her how lucky she is she has more than them - even though its nothing to do with luck and its down to working very hard.
She would have nothng at all in common with such people.
Pushing people away is because you reject them before they have a chance to reject you. It worries you that you need a friend so much and it would hurt you so much if they let you down or hurt you, so you do it first. Obvious.
Ive not been here long but most of the posts are from very young people who just moan and groan, it is easy to see why they are unhappy and never will be, it is their own fault. But some people have something special about them, they are more proactive and more capable so they rise up above that lot. You can do that if you want to but there is no rush, its up to you how when where and what and who with.
Dont let anyone make your decisions for you.
I have a precious day where I am not working - I work far longer hours than most - my choice - I never let life just happen to me - so today I am going to watch a box set. I dont need advice or permission.
Hope you feel better soon and drop me a private mesage if you want.
We all need good friends that will listen and just let us vent from time to time. Being able to talk, be honest and love ourselves is so important. Its hard to trust people once we turn the trust off. It feels even harder to turn the trust back on, to talk to others.
Sites like this are great, help you get focus on yourself and learn how to listen to your needs and feelings.
Continue to keep a journal, praying and loving yourself for all that you are, and you are worth it.
