Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

My broken record of the couple downstairs having moved out, leaving their cat behind---with now a barfly couple and me the only individual tenants in the building. A group for the homeless has taken over the upstairs apt, the two downstairs business spaces, and one of the homeless is cleaning up, and probably living in, the empty downstairs apt.
None of these people, of course, are people I can talk to, or maybe they don't want to talk to me. And the adjacent building is an ex-flop house where some homeless cats have taken refuge.
Behind me is my landlord's garage, where a redneck does amateur car repairs. Next to it is a garage and apt, with the apt also now empty; it was, seemingly, a new flop house, where people were outside all day and night.
In front of me are some minor businesses, and apartments over them I don't know much about.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

But...I sometimes play my $25 ? stereo too loud, when my ears get stuffed up; my hearing right now half deaf from stress.
It's actually pretty quiet around here. In April or May we have the snow birds that are from the various winter states and Canada depart to go home. They come here after thanksgiving and until it starts getting a lot hotter.
I generally don't care to interact with neighbors. It's never been much of a positive experience in my past.
My loneliness started when I had to have surgery. I have always been independent and done everything for myself----so I thought I could drive to the hospital----as I have done it several times. I was told someone had to drop me off and pick me up; as it was major surgery-----I could not find one person do drive me. I became quite depressed over that. Finally, I contacted an acquaintance that I had not seen in years. She drove me to the hospital and back home. Have not heard from her since. My surgery was near the end of July. That is when it hit home how alone I am in the world. I would not wish my life on anyone. Where I live; I do get a lot of questions about why I am on oxygen. People are just curious, I guess. I wish I had neighbors to do things with; even watch TV; or go out for coffee, or lunch.
When I became disabled and was in my walker for a year and was doing so terribly with walking, I eventually had to go into an electric scooter. I had so many people where I live who never said hello to me before stopping me and asking me how much my electric scooter cost. I told them I don't discuss my financials with anyone, but I can give them the name and number of the dealer if they are interested in one. They would respond, they were just curious. No, they were being really ignorant and they don't deserve to know how much I paid just because they are "curious." Do I ask them how much their false teeth cost or that face lift?
I'm 61 and I'm from an era that still exists (and this bunch is older than I am) where they know it is ignorant and very poor manners to ask how much something costs.
And I had a couple in a Burger King fast food place that actually came to my table and were insisting on knowing how much my scooter cost and told me "we don't want to know your finances, we want to know how much it cost." I told them I was trying to eat a meal and I'm going to start yelling really loud for the manager and the police if they don't get away from me and my table and leave. they left Burger King. I had a sense they were wondering if my scooter was worth stealing from me when I left and went outside to my car. I made sure I was okay when I left.
gecko lizards outside a screen door are good television for cats.
trisha9054,
if I magically had tons of money, I wish I could live as isolated as you; and I can imagine it can be hard to keep it that way
yes, as I've noted, it hasn't been a good experience for me to interact with numerous neighbors.
bill,
I'm glad YOU don't have criminal neighbors.
Peri,
I wish I had the courage to dump liquid skunk scent at my skunky neighbors' places.
GreenLanternGuy,
my semi-criminal neighbors are too paranoid, and I'd be too paranoid to ever watch them from my windows.
your story sounds too familiar to mine.
back in 2004, when I had a broken leg, and was around people at my drop-in, nobody would drive me 25 miles to the hospital to get my operation----I felt like such a loser having to take a hospital van.
that, subconsciously, was probably why I cut off contact with the few people I did know back then, cause I was too messed up to make such a conscious decision to drop such toxic people.
i guess your incident would be funny, as long as it happened to somebody else.
the last car I'll probably ever owned, i moved it off the street during a snowstorm, borough cleaned the streets, then the neighbor opposite me shoveled his walk into the streets, right at my parking spot, with me cursing up a storm when i was later stuck on that snow.
