Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
You're welcome to add me as a friend! I'm wondering, what are those chronic issues you deal with -i see that you have vertigo, is that from the accident? Reason I ask is because I had it once and it really proved quite difficult for me to function. I know what that's like.
Have you tried alternative therapies like acupuncture to provide some relief? Meditation, yoga? Just wondering what the extent of your injuries are...
HUGS to you
I am sure you will find this site supportive, take care.
dave.
I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself today because it is so hard having to face these daily struggles, let alone go through them alone. It is hard to bear, at times.
I forced myself to go to prayer today, but that was all I could manage. I had to get right back home and have been struggling to move enough even to read these posts, let alone respond to some. I wanted you to know, however, that you are not alone. And it makes me feel better knowing that I am not going through all I am by myself, though I hate that anyone is able to relate to my situation at all.
Take heart, knowing that we are here for you and we care and we understand. Together, we'll help each other through these trying times.
Hugggggggssssss to you.
I can relate to the dilemma of having an illness to go along with the lonliness.I have chronic fatigue and brain fog and find it hard to keep social commitments. So,I end up spending a lot of time alone.I am grateful to have a telephone so at least I can talk to family and friends.
You can add me as a friend as well if you like.I hope you feel better soon.
Take Care
I find you extremely brave to share your story like you did. I see that a lot of us are in similar situations and seem to be christians (I see a lot of references to Bible, Godbless, God etc. I have had it in my heart very very strongly to start reaching out to other people, and women esp. who struggle like we do (see my story below) and have a weekly or bimonthly or monthly conference call where we all can pray together by phone. I believe there is a reason for everything and maybe this is to bring us together, who knows? All I know is I AM DONE STRUGGLING ON MY OWN !!! I have felt so bad about myself for SO LONG. It is enough !! I am so glad I'm not alone in this and I believe we can and should help each other out. I am more than willing to organize everything. As far as not being able to make it, that's totally fine, I understand, see my story below. If we can try and help each other out, imagine the power in that.
Anyway here is my story below:
Thanks so much for starting this thread bc I'm in the exact same situation, maybe not 100% similar but very similar. I have been plagued with chronic fatigue for the longest time, depression, and muscle pains, weakness etc. I had to stop university, work, everything. Now I have been like this for more than a decade. Sometimes I feel better, sometimes very horrible that I can't even wake up from bed and need to litterally stay in bed for weeks. My house is a mess in times like these, and I barely have strength to go to the fridge and get some food...I do all my shopping online when possible so they send it to me at the door. To add insult to injury, I felt really hurt by many people including well meaning family members who told me I was "lazy" for staying in bed all day and not doing anything. I tried explaining many times I couldn't, no one seemed to every listen or understand.
I have been to doctors many times, none of which ever understood what was wrong. Some prescribed Zoloft for depression but that was it. Some told me to exercise and eat better. I couldn't even exercise, I was soooo weak and tired all the time. It got so bad that I started fainting a lot all over the place. Once I pushed and pushed myself so bad to still go out shopping (on the recommendation of my friend that I should stop being depressed at home an make an effort to come out) at Walmart when I was living back in Florida. I passed out and had to go to hospital. They did all kinds of tests, never saw anything except a low blood pressure, for which I was already taking iron.
I don't know how much you believe in God, but I was prayed for by a preacher and started to feel so much better. I realized as I was praying and in His presence I started being better and better. But for various reasons, I got very bitter at christians for their lack of understanding, judgmental attitudes and stopped going to church altogether. I still felt God but I also started getting angry at Him and I couldn't feel Him anymore so my sickness came back. I started feeling very tired and bad again. I have to say I never got healed "instantly", it was always a struggle to try and try and try. I still believe God can totally heal me, but I simply dont have the strength to fight this battle anymore. I am complteley discouraged, feel so lonely and misunderstood. I tried to end my life on several occasions but each time when I was about to do it, I'd feel God's overwhelming love and all I could do is cry and cry then I'd feel better after opening my heart to God and telling Him everything that's inside.
On top of all this, I had relatives fighting over nonsense, rude people, friends betraying and abandoning me, people at church just horrible. I had money problems and even once ended up on the streets. I went from hotel to hotel since I couldnt afford the deposit for an apartment. Then, out of nowhere, someone hired me to work online. It took all the strength I had but I managed to work a couple hours in the day and managed to get a decent apartment. All the while parents, sisters, friends, church folks...ALL HATING ON ME. Not one person could ask: "are you OK"
Then, FINALLY, last year, I traveled all the way back to the place I was born and where I hadn't been in a decade. A doctor there diagnosed me with HYPOTHYROIDISM.Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone. I had an advanced case of it and was in a very very bad condition, this topped with heavy depression. He prescribed some pills and I started feeling much better after only 1 week and then completed the first pack after 3 month. My strength was much better but I still felt tired here and there but I didn't stay in bed for weeks and weeks like I used to. I could take a bus, go to the grocery store or wherever without feeling completely exhausted.
NO DOCS WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE ME FOR AN ENTIRE DECADE!! Now think about this!
UNFORTUNATELY, for various reasons, I couldn't access my pills for 6 months. I was in a foreign country who refused to prescribe them to me and I tried to get to doctors to no avail. I tried to get in touch with my old doc via phone to send me a new prescription, he wasn't in the office for a couple weeks, I mean just crazy. Then I got too busy, forgot, couldnt travel back ... then started to feel sick again. So then for the next couple of months I was back sick...
LUCKILY, a friend of mine told me she ordered a bottle of those meds online without a prescription. I have just managed to order one now and as they are working in my body I feel dizzy (in a good way) all the time and feel they are starting to work. I still now I will need to do a lot of things as this is not a magic pill. Like exercise, eat right, sleep a lot, no stress etc etc.
ALL IN ALL, here is what I have discovered: IT WAS A GOOD THING WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, it showed me who my friends truly are !!!!! I believe this sickness was for me to LET GO of those aweful relatives ONCE AND FOR ALL (who were very abusive when I was a child btw but this is a whole nother story)
During this time, I met once in awhile some VERY GOOD PEOPLE who maybe were not there long term but they came for a season and helped me emotionally, talked to me and listened to me. I knew what it was like to be "liked" and not just "tolerated"
I got closer to God as well, I grew a lot, learned a lot. I experienced the love of God a lot although He didn't take my pain away all at once.
Now I have been taking my pills for the past 5 days AND ONCE HEALED I WILL BE READY TO LIVE MY LIFE AGAIN. with new eyes, new people and new goals !
I think its VERY IMPORTANT to understand what is at the root of your problem? Me it was TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS with very judgmental people or those who were negative and jealous, and abuse as a child, which I didn't understand how much it affected me and gave me severe depression. The more I mingled with my abusers, the more depressed I became. Then it was also hypothyroidism and low blood pressure. (and other things dont have time to go into it)
If you know the root cause, you can heal !
As for me, I have tried committing suicide so many times. I'm not out of the boat yet and just yesterday slept all day and all night but I am no longer at a place where I want to end my life.
Stay strong, I will pray for you, we all will. In the mean time if we can help each other would be great !
Be blessed, love you unconditionally !
PS: will be back with hours of the conference call, you dont have to talk...just listen. I strongly feel else I wouldn't do it. WE NEED EACH OTHER :))) otherwise what good to be a christian?
