Hi Tammy! The separation from family is probably also increasing the feelings of loneliness. I can relate all too well- I lost the last 2 remaining close relatives and severed ties afterward with blood ties for the same reason. I know what you mean about being tired of distracting yourself to the point that it doesn't work anymore. I'm in that predicament also, but I keep doing those distractions because it's better than just sitting and being alone. I have no advice because a lot of the advice given to help my loneliness just doesn't work for me. Just know that you're not alone in your struggle and I hope that you will find some relief for it soon (((hugs)))

I would try some meetup groups to get out and have evening outside house....occasionally they have game nights and stuff like dinners for singles....all kinds of basic fun stuff to do....

I don't handle them in healthy ways, so I shouldn't tell you how I handle them. I have a similar problem. Distractions don't really work. And the isolated feeling just comes back anyways. My family is abusive too. I'm trying to find people willing to talk to me. I want to have people close to me one day. Do you work or are you involved in anything that at least has you involved with other people? Because even that can help for a bit.
