I'm not sure if I have ever posted here or not but I do read it often.
I can relate to the power of loneliness but more powerful then that is the power of hope.
In 2009, I began chatting on a forum, not DS but very similar, and met a lady there.
We started chatting more and more and after a year we met in person and now six years later we are married. In fact, today is our one week anniversary.
I'm sharing this to say, don't lose hope and please don't lock yourself in a corner. By that I mean don't say I'll only date people within 20 miles of my home.
Take that leap of faith and give it a try. I'm from Nebraska, my wife is from England. How's that for distance? I visited her first and I thought if it didn't work out or there wasn't a spark, then at least I had a vacation of a lifetime.
Not only did I have a great vacation, I also now have a great wife...
If you get anything from this, please let it be hope... don't give up on hope...

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...
That is a wonderful story. Much is to be said for "leaps of faith". Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
