Okay, so I'm new here, not actually sure where I'm going or what I'm doing. So going to ramble a little...
Been with my other half for 8 years, we have a beautiful home, two dogs, she has a son and a grandson (who calls us both nanny) family life is great.
We aren't each others 'type' but have survived 8 years,me actually have nothing in common, apart from memories we have built together. Which I'll always cherish.
We don't have sex, we are not intimate with each other at all, we've both put on a lot of weight over the 8 years. I don't fancy her and she doesn't fancy me, we don't 'click' in the bedroom and any sex we have had has been uncomfortable, Embarrasing and rushed. We are not sexually compatiable. I am willing to try with her, but she's not with me, she's happy to have a sexless relationship, I am not. She's told me that if I'm discreet that she doesn't mind me sleeping with other women. I can't do this, I'd see this as cheating and I just couldn't do it. She's openly said that she doesn't want to go the rest of her life without sex either, but could as she wantsbto spend it with me. she's not highly sexed and that she loves me so can go without. Even though the sex between us is awful, I still feel rejected, because in my heart of hearts I know if I was a slim leggy blonde she'd have sex.
I'm prepared to work at it,mice suggested date nights, massages, etc she's said she's not interested as does not want to have sex with me. Sex isn't the most important attribute to a relationship for me, but I do need intimacy.
Struggling with the dilemma of leaving her, but feel like I'd be leaving my right arm... Yet, can't cope without intimacy.... Just after some advice really.... Suggestions on routes forward etc

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I think I saw your post also-over on Lesbian Relationship Challenges. My main suggestion is to get into some counseling, perhaps individual and couples both if you can. No sex isn't the most important thing in a relationship, but its nice to have when you are in a partnership with one you love!! & Yes, I agree intimacy (non sexual kinds) are very important to have.
That being said: You gave some conflicting/double messages in your post. So I'm a little uncertain what else to say. You mentioned "not fancying each other and you don't click in the bedroom", that you are not sexually compatiable, that sex between you is awful"... I'm not sure, but it sounds like you have become more friends and room-mates than partners at this point. I hope you give the idea of counseling a chance, because maybe it would help you both sort things out. My heart goes out to you both.
Best of Luck to you,
Jess
It may come down to asking yourself if this is something you could live with for the rest of your life if your partner is unwilling to try to change through counseling or other avenues. I have always felt that sex and intimacy is the one thing that seperates a partnership from a best friendship. Everything is not always that black and white, I know, because the reason there is a lack of sex in my own relationship is that my partner had to have a full hysterectomy for health reasons and I was a part of that decision, even though I knew it would probably diminish her sex drive. For this reason I feel I must stand by her and the choice we made, and I am still always trying to find ways to encourage her to make love atleast once in a while so I don't suffer from sexual frustration.
Best of luck to you sweetie. You deserve to be happy and sometimes we have to sacrifice in the short-term to find greater happiness long term.
