oh this was a good one! and im looking foreward to the answers myself, many lesbian women just like to be known as lesbian women, some as butch some as fem.... some have a problem w labels, myself its a either way thing. I dress and act more butch soooo I refer to myself as a butch and when I dont then other ppl say "oh she is butch" soooo~ im comfortable with that and esp in the writing form, for me it gives insight into how to approach others on topics ect if I know how they see themselves and how others may seee them,,,i use the id kinddyke57, anfd i picked it carefully about 5 yrs ago, when the word dyke was seen in a neg way, dyke used to be a pos word for a butch and the word butch was rarely used, so i was in my teens and 20's when being a dyke wasnt a bad thing at all. I didnt like what i saw w many of the "dyke" "butch" relationships and alot of women thinkin because they were butch they should be in control and make all the decisions saw an increase in domestic violence, etc,,, so I added kind onto the front of dyke. (57 is the last 2 digits of my best friends phone number) thus kinddyke. I have had othes ask me this,,, I like to go by KD, (which of course is for kinddyke). anyway sorry to ramble,,, I look foreward to others posts on this , should beinteresting as well as insightful for you.... have a good day.
