Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
When Your Ex Tells You He Wants to Marry You Again
My ex told me he wants to marry me again. The kicker is he is re-married. I'm not posting this for advice, but for encouragement, but please feel free to share your thoughts.
When we separated it was not my desire to divorce, but rather to seek marriage counseling & reconcile. Well that didn't happen. My ex filed for divorce and I did not contest.
I had to learn to be alone, learn about myself and love myself. It has not been easy because I had to confront many of my fears (for example, rejection and fear of failure). I learned you cannot change what your not willing to confront.
Well, nine years later, when my ex told me he wanted to remarry, I was amazed how much healing had taken place in me, so much so that what I wanted to hear during the separation had no impact on me nine years later, matter of fact, I didn't say anything disrespectful but I sure have given him a piece of my mind. Madea said when you have a chance to hurt the person who hurt you and you don't take that opportunity to retaliate, most likely you are over that relationship.
I don't want to mislead anyone, I care about my ex, but I love myself more than compromising myself. Spending time alone has helped me to establish boundaries and not settle for less, especially for my ex who is a married man or any other man who cannot meet my standards.
If you are in transition after a divorce and struggling with being alone, give yourself permission to be alone. There is someone waiting to meet you, and that person is who you see when you look in a mirror. There are some incredible things about yourself waiting to be discovered! Enjoy where you are to where you are going.
Peace & Blessings!

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

I am still struggling along at 17 months post

Decline. He would only want back because of
Finances and money. I would be dumb to even
Consider it after what he has done. When they
Show who they are believe them the first time.

I'm happy living on this farm that I started from nothing. Life is good again.
Starting over is difficult enough, especially if you are older and your ex took your home.
Number one is HEALTH - as nothing else really matters without that
It's survival and healing, suffering is normal in life, just the depth that changes.
I wouldn't wish for happiness as that's a temporary state - I wish for contentment and the means to reach it (which is different for everyone)
Congrats to everyone who has been through the grinder and made it out relatively ok
My ex cleaned out our joint account and left because he thought I never make $300k a year again to support him due to my PTSD and health complications after I had a slip and fall accident. He was wrong! I was glad he left. Now he won't ever get an office job because he worked for me for 7 years and I will not sign his reference letter. He won't get spousal support either because he walked out on an ill wife... which is returning to school! Ha...
Sometimes divorce and separation is not a bad thing! I got to do all the things I put off to build a dream with someone. Forget the dream with someone... build your own dream and learn to be happy with yourself first! Sorry to say but now I feel that everything else is secondary to my own happiness.
We women needed to learn and I learned my lesson.
