Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
You don't day how long you were married, but 4 years is really not that long to be single after a divorce, especially if you were married for any length of time. It took me 5+ years to be ready for a relationship after my marriage of 13 years.
I don't think it's terrible that you think you want a long distance relationship; however, I think it's more likely that you are just not ready for a relationship. So many people jump right back in to a new relationship after a divorce and that is one of the worst things you can do.
Take this time you have and focus on yourself and your kids. If you do decide to try a long distance relationship just be aware that if you do fall madly in love and decide to take it further at some point, one of you will have to make a major move.
Hope this helps
I just really miss having that emotional bond. As a single mom, I have no adult life except work. I go to the gym daily and have to find my alone time. My daughter's dad is back in the picture and she now spends some time with him. I find that I want to go out and meet people but no idea how. I hate bars so I would rather stay home. I guess that is why I seek a long distance relationship so I can have my time alone and maybe have an emotional connection. Maybe I am just strange!!! :0)
But I understand your need for that daily 'hi how's your day?' relationship. I find that's one of the things I miss the most being single.
