Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
Keep moving forward, it will get better.
You HAVE been run through the wringer, but that's behind you now. Wake up each morning and give thanks for another day! Attitude is EVERYTHING. Take it from one who has been there, done all that and lived to tell about it!
Please know that most, if not all of your ex's anger, behaviour etc is all about her, her anger at life, herself etc, and sadly because she is not prepared to work on trying to face up to what the problem is with herself, it is far easier for her to blame it on or turn it all onto you.
This does not make you a bad person, a worthless person or is no way a reflection on who you are. I know it is hard to get to that place and it makes you feel like you have been and are still being put through the ringer, but quite honestly the only way you can really help yourself heal is by understanding that you do not deserve any of the junk she spews in your direction, or the horrendous treatment she dishes out to you.
I understand how painful it is when someone you thought of as your best friend and you loved turns on you for no apparent reason. But the only thing we can do to save ourselves is to understand if there is any little part of it that might be our problem which we can work on and then safeguard ourselves from having anymore pain inflicted on us.
You will find yourself again and you will get past the pain and nightmare.
Yes, we mourn in our pain and hopefully it works to move us towards healing. Don't let anyone else's confusion, loss of self worth interfere with our capacity to create lives free of oppressive choas. Each of us does have a choice.
thank you
