Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
I would say find something you would like to do. I have used the meetup App a few times and gone hiking or meditation with complete strangers. It was a scary experience but rewarding once I got there. I also tried Toastmasters and meet some great people. Sometimes to make something change, you have to try something different. After all, we only got one life must well enjoy it when we can.

I decided I wanted to have a life as Maya Angelou did (as an adult she experienced a lot of things in life by choice)
One lifestyle change I made was to join several groups at Meetup.com. That was one of my social activities I added to my life.
I also chose to stop making my good paying job be the determining factor as to what I could or couldn't with my life (like my ex did) so I chose to go back to school for a new career, attend Meetups and do volunteer opportunities whenever I can.
I can say now, I'm tired but loving that I belong somewhere so I'm not lonely.
Hugs and I know you can do it!
Life is still going turbulent, as my job situation is up and down/all over the place. Health is iffy at the, and I am missing health insurance. Plus living alone I simply don't have the support I had.
I reflect on this, how I was married to a man, who loved me. I simply didn't love him back and feel sadness for that. As much as I struggle, I am in a better place. It's just really hard, as I'm so busy working and haven't had time to cultivate friendships.
I am a loner and have been my whole life. Occasionally, I make close friends. They usually seek me out, but I am alone, other than my LDR person. I wonder if something is wrong with me, since I am such a loner but just accept that that's how things are going to be for a while. I need my life to be normal again. Not sure if/when that will happen.
I'll try and figure out how to turn notifications on, in case anyone else might happen to respond.
Have a great one, and thanks for listening! Not sure there's much help out there for me.. Just have to muddle through life, and eventually, things will be better, as nothing ever stays the same.
