Life After Divorce Support Group
This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.

I am 71 y-o female. I am very comfortable with online dating. I have been divorced since 1989. Had a 10 year relaionship and have been online dating on and off for 10+ years.
I am very selective and also think I have not been ready for more than a firendshio and casual dating.....but now I think I am ready for more.
I still do not want marriage or even living togegther, but I am THINKING about getting romantic with a man I recently met and have dated a couple of times.
I am terrified of the thought of being intimate with a man again. I am far less than fond of the flabby lumpy parts of my body.
In addition to that, I don't know how good he would be. My husband was a very UNCREATIVE nonromantic wam-bam, missionary-only, in the dark and under the covers man. I then had a lover after my divorce who was very thoughtful, romantic and we had a great sex life. So now I am also afraid no one will compare to that.
***BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY is the LOGISGTICS.*** We go out on DATES. movies, dinner, concerts and hug and kiss goodnight. I am feeling like I want some more physicality, but I do not want to go to his house or bring him to mine and then feel obligated to do more than just "make out" or have it be really AWKWARD.
BUT... where do to two grown adults go to "make out"?? certainly not a car or a hotel room!
**CAN you expect a grown man to be OK to just MAKE OUT AN STOP????****
MEN's opinions more than welcomed!! Thanks in advance.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Be on an online dating site. Many do and i know i am a
Bit old Fashioned. You have to wade thru so much muck
And yucky people and tons of predators, not going there.
I am also not ready to date, i truly believe the right one
Will appear when the time is right and if nothing happens
Then so be it. I am 60 and i still have high hopes for myself
and all my future happiness after i am healed. HUGS
I had a few dates where there was zero connection in person. Other dates where I noticed that we were annoying the waiter; He had come back 3 times to take our order and we were so busy talking that we hadn't even looked at the menu; and later they had to kick us out at closing. (I left him a nice tip).
Have gone out on a 3rd or 4th date where my date suggested a movie that was at the end of the run, got to the theater a little early and found it empty, so we sat in the very back. No one else showed up so we made out all through the previews. Said it made her feel 17 again. :-)
One woman gave me a few too many good-by kisses at her door before she invited me inside; she wanted to continue on the couch for perhaps 30 minutes but made it clear that she was not ready for sex yet. (which is fine). I would rather that a woman be clear with me upfront rather than have me misunderstand what they want and hurt each others feelings. Not too many dates later, she did invite me to stay the night. That was over 2 years ago, we're still dating. (but we each have our own places)
As far as what men want from a relationship, well, you're eventually going to have to ask. We're all different. Sure, some men want only sex. Some will want it as part of a committed relationship. Some think it's one of the most important parts, others couldn't be bothered. For me personally, I think this is one of those conversations that is had early, before either person invests too much time and emotion. What makes it a problem is when both people in the relationship have different expectations. So, I suppose you need to go out on a limb, and ask your guy what they want. Do you want to be physical. Are you ok with making out and stopping, etc. etc. If the guy is offended by all this, don't waste your time.
On the lumpy parts; if you are dating someone your own age, they will have them too. we're all human. Also, if you are a guy and a woman is generous enough to sleep with you, you need to be thankful, not critical. If you are critical of your date, expect to be dumped. promptly.
