This community is dedicated to starting over after a divorce. With the marriage over, how do individuals begin a new chapter in their lives and what hurdles do they face? Divorce is often one of the most traumatic periods in a person's life. Studies show it is the second-most stressful event in life, after the death of a spouse.
I was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago. I was with a serious boyfriend, who I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with, but he decided to leave me after I got out of the hospital after my surgery. I've been single ever since. I feel like since he left me, any guy will leave me if I have a relapse. But I don't want to feel that way anymore. I just don't know how to get past that feeling...

I am sorry for your pain! I see this from two different ways here.
So many people today are selfish. I mean they want what they want wen they want it and dont want to take care of someone else. I suppose your Ex could have been scared that he may have been left alone do to your health concerns. I would guess that he was just selfish and didnt love you enough to stick out what ever happened.
I would neither say or think that all men would do that though. I mean if a guy truly loves you he will stick anything out for you. I am sorry you had to go through that and I wish I had better advice to give you.
Real love dosent run at the sign of trouble it makes a stand and takes it on head first.
