Hello all. My name is Chris and I am a habitual liar. I think that I have been this way for most of my life, but I think that is just now getting to the point where I am hiring rock bottom. Because of my lies and things that I have lied about (infidelity and other various addictions), my wife is ready to leave. Other things have happened in the past but nothing that will be as impactful as my wife and kids exciting my life. I'm going to try my hardest to stop the lies, but I honestly worry about my ability to do this..

Stay strong Chris. If you want to change, and give it everything you have then your wife will see this. Work on putting yourself second and let your wife know how much you care about her. You can do this.

I'm in the same boat Chris. This sounds a lot like my story. It's been about a week since I've made the decision not to lie anymore and I can honestly say it's incredibly difficult to do. It's not the big things that are the problem, it's the little throwaway ones.

"Yes I posted that", "No I didn't eat the last cookie", "I'm 5mins away" (when you're clearly in the shower! haha!)......even worse it's the ones you don't realise you've been doing. The exaggerations the added comments to make the story just that little more epic.

Now I'm aware I do it and the pain they cause others, I find myself checking myself just fractionally before I say those words. It is that little millisecond of a pause that helps me notice that my mouth is about to run off and I can stop myself. It's just about perseverance and that personal decision to say...."I'm a liar. And today is the day I stop!". Just like any addiction, the first day is the hardest. Keep strong my friend and I'm here to help.
