i'll no longer be a liar

i'm a liar ; i lie about simple things and big ones ; for my early teens i've been lying and giving promises that i can't keep and that i new i couldn't keep i just lied for the sake of it ; i lied day in day out ; i just don't now when it started but it manifested in  my daily life in my first year in middle school i lied to close ones ; the transition between middle school and high school was a tough one ; and that's where i started failling and lying more and more i lied about who i was ; and what i did and my family ; i gave an image that wasn't me ; i was basicaly i very pale image of the projection i made of the '' me'' they believed i was it was emotionally hard to lead a life like htta so i confessed and i lied again and confessed and lied ; and tries to lie again about the same major thing ; i know in the process of knowing who i was i hurted my self and those who loved me and who partially because of my lies no longer do ; in analyzing my situation i know that i lie in for those reasons : 1- mostly to project an image that's not me ; to be worthy ; to make myself look better ..especialy in the eyes of those who matter to me . 2- i lie when people ask me question that i obviously don't wanna answer ; and they insist on answering and i guess idon't have much courage to answer those questions so i jut lie ; to get rid of them 3-i lie for the sake of it ; for the conversation; when i reach an dead end in a conversation and there is nothing to tell ; or to talk about i just lie ..etc . i also noticed that when i lie there are some pretty obvious lies that even the one i'm lying too can easily tell that i'm lying '' not all the time '' my heart start beating fast ; i start stutring ; i think a lot and it's clear that it's diffrent from the rest which is true . 


why i wanna stop lying ? 


1-mostly because it's not who i am nor the person i'm aspiring to become . 


2-i wanna be trusthworthy ; i wanna feel trusted again ; i wanna feel that i'm authentic ; that what i'm telling is the truth and it is aligned with my reality . 


3-' a reason i want to keep for myself'


i promise today that i'll do wathever in my ability to stop lying and become that authentic ; true person ; i'm and i want to become .  if anyone is reading this i'll keep update on my journy on curing myself ; good luck for all of us who have the courage to face our problems .

Good luck, Balina. Your self analysis sounds familiar to me and I am sure many who are on this website. It is a hard thing to change the internals of a person who lies, but I do believe it is possible. Stick tight to your plan, and hold on to your determination. And maybe like Nike says, "Just Do It".

I like that you made a promise to yourself that you can keep - that you are going to do your best. I think that I'm going to do that. Thank you for the example and I know you're going to meet your goals and be okay.

I can fully understand what you are saying as I too lied in my teens to get out of difficult situations. I had very low self esteem and this has carried over into my adult life. As an adult, I have regularly lied/exaggerated in order to portray myself in a certain way that I think other people will admire and be impressed by. Although I did this with males and females, I did it more with females as I found them easier to impress and also enjoyed the ego boost of thinking that they found the image I was portraying attractive. I was not interested in having relationships (long or short term) with any of these women but it has been hard for my partner to believe this.
I too want to be trustworthy and trusted, and an authentic person, as you do. Your promise is one I would also like to make to my partner and myself. Keep us updated on your progress and I will try to do the same. Good luck, Balina.
