Liars Anonymous Community Group
A support group to provide those with a compulsive addiction to lie a place to share hope, strength and courage with others like them; solve our common problem and help others with a compulsion to lie. We aren't alone!
So one theme I've been noticing throughout a lot of these posts is that many of us have the desire to stop lying but find ourselves lying with no control. Like it literally just slips out. You didn't think up a story and repeat it. You were just having a casual conversation and out of nowhere you just lied and you had to keep lying to make sure the person can still follow your train of thought. IDK
if that didn't make sense then this probably isn't your "type" of lying issue i guess
But If you're religious, I'd invite you to read Romans 7:15-17... it says
"15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it."
I won't make you read the rest because it's pretty long
but in a nutshell, EVERYONE struggles with a certain sin.
For us, it's lying. For others, it may be sexual craving or drug addictions.
And so what this chapter in Romans is really saying is that God knows that we are all a slave to sin. We've sinned so long that it's a habit , like sucking your thumb or chewing a pen; we sin with little to no self control. Which is very upsetting b/c even when we know what is right, we find ourselves in the same old garbage.
If you're like me, you probably struggle with the idea that God or anyone for that matter would ever love someone like that.
There are pastors and good people out there, what could God possibly want with an attention craving, deceiving little liar like me <<<
How easily we forget that God came to save people just like us.
He used Rahab, a heathen prostitute; He used David, a murderess adulterer; He even used Jacob,One of The Biggest Liar of All Times.
Yet In spite of Jacob's lies, God later blessed Him and renamed him Israel - father of the 12 Israelite tribes, the chosen people of God.
So God knows we are really struggling to do what's right. And as Christians, we have to accept that nothing about living in a sinful world was supposed to be easy breezy. Trying to break a habit of lying that we've groomed for decades is gonna be hard hard hard hard hard.But every morning we can invite the Holy Spirit into our hearts. Make that tough choice everyday to tell yourself "Not my will but God's".. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,for they will be filled.
So my goal for this week (I'm inviting you guys to do it too) :
instead of just talking for the sake of talking, or instead of wracking your brain to stop lying
try to make everything that comes out of your mouth for a whole 24 hours-be something positive and uplifting to someone around you. Point out the good in your loved ones , point out the good in yourselves. Engulf your mind with positive thoughts and see if that helps.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
