I often times find myself avoiding conflict by lying to my wife.

Hello. Has your wife caught you in any of these lies? Was the result of that worse than the perceived conflict? I've done the same thing over and over, and just dealing with the conflict would always have been better than the anger, hurt and sense of betrayal from my lies. I hate conflict, but in life, there's going to be conflict. You can work it out.

yes she has caught me in the lies. And 100% yes that was much worse than being upfront from the start. I’ve started The 100% upfront no lie policy. And So far It’s making quite a difference. . I wasn’t a chronic perpetual liar I just chose the things that I did not want her to know.

That sounds like me as well. I have been going to therapy and have been giving nightly check-ins to my wife talking about my feelings about us and my life in general. I have always turned inward when I was stressed or life was not going my way. There is still a lot of trust that has to be rebuilt but I am working on it!
