I hear you and agree totally. I don't believe for one minute that my plea for him to stop lying will happen over night, nor will he stop for me. You are right. He has to be willing to do it for himself. I could take the easy route and just leave him. But I can't, he is my love and I want him better himself. If we do end up separating because of his lies, if anything, I want to see him get help so that our children don't learn from this pattern of lying. He knows of this support group. I've sent him the info. But he has to take the step. It's in his hands.

I'm learning as I go too. But being on the receiving end of the lies, I can tell you that the lies become even more hurtful when my husband tries to cover a lie with a lie. I would prefer to hear an honest apology over more lies any day. AND be very patient, it will take time to regain her trust. So keep working at it. Lots of luck
