Let me be Me Community Group
A support group for those of us that need a safe place to share what ails us. Or what doesn't! This group is your group so you can be the person you really are, no need to pretend, no need to create some successful cyber image. Whether sharing our trials and tribulations, or our success's in life. Whether in sadness and needing comfort and support, or just...
Hugs!

Wahoooo.... sounds like a basement party.... been way over due....
Brownies, beer and cocktail time 8-)

I do have strong beliefs but my beliefs are mine. Some people have stronger beliefs than me, some less, some none. With that said unless, its a religious forum I don't think religion should be slathered all over the place. It makes some people uncomfortable and the CP board is not a faith based board. I don't think someone asking for prayers is bad, if you don't have beliefs well you could wish them best wishes or something. I've saw JC handle that situation very well just the other day.
We need to remember that everyone is entitled to their beliefs. There are religious boards on here and I think that's where the majority of religious based topics should be held. Just my two cents.
The more likely things are to make me feel...intolerant..:-) :-)
I get a little nervous if there are multiple religious posts on the board at once..
As..even DS recognises that , unless specified as so..these are not " religious" support groups.and..
If..when I'd first checked out DS..I would likely have not stayed if I perceived it to be so.
Let's face it.we're talking Christianity here.no-ones posting Allah Acbar (sp)I'm not a Christian.
( not Muslim either :-)
I do respect others beliefs . I suppose those that state them as fact do so because they BELIEVE they ARE fact. ..I sometimes envy that kind of faith...it seems to bring some comfort.
I try not to have a knee-jerk reaction to it.
And..yeh..I've had that inner wince on ' pain-free day "..
But..hell...I guess if you're gonna wish..wish big..:-) :-)
Ummm..Cherry..
Are you SURE you want to go in the cellar ? There've been some strange goins' on down there..:-)
Sorry you're feeling so rough.
Huhs

it's appropriately titled unlike some posts, so there's no need to click onto it if you you don't want to.
we all have our rough, low tolerance times when every little thing gets to us. on independent lens is a doc about the history of people with disabilities before any laws were passed to give us any assistance such as access to buildings - the struggle they had to get ramps and support in appropriate housing, etc.
i've joined in your bitch and moan posts...there are days when we have to do that, there are days when we bring it on ourselves, there are days when it comes out of the blue....likewise does it matter that we get hope wherever - there are meditation posts, breakfast posts, party posts, update posts...some are pain-focused and some are not.
go into the hole if you need if you could use a break. we have it nicely decorated by now. i know i've been there my fair share.
I was raised by parents who kept religious beliefs unspoken. My Father came from a big French Catholic family and when he decided to marry the little Baptist girl he fell in love with, his parents disowned him. His Mother said he could walk right past the house and not stop if he married her.
My Mom went through all the training and signed papers vowing to raise us Catholic...having no intention of following through. My older Sister remembers Mom locking the two of them in the bathroom while Dad was banging on the door to take her to Catachism (I don't even know how to spell it!).
It all stopped when my parents were at a church gathering and the Priest whom everyone worshipped, pressed his front side against my Mother's backside as she leaned over a buffet table. She told my Father after they got home and that ended anything Catholic in our family.
My parents didn't go to church, didn't speak of God, but I was dropped off for Sunday School and sang in the choir at the Congregational church in town. I met my best friend in the whole world at that church.
When my children were growing up, we all went to church and they participated in everything for the children and we got involved in many things. I started the Christmas mitten tree at our church. Everyone brough mittens to hang on the tree and then I distributed them to the area school for the children in need. We filled and delivered Thanksgiving baskets to the less fortunate.
As a single adult, I have gone to church on occasion. I've even walked across the street to a sweet, little Episcopal church for a few services. But still I struggle. Being told that a large, male being is watching every move I make...well, it brings out a fear from some very real experiences in my life.
My shrink keeps working on me to speak up, say how things make me feel...well, I think he meant for me to do that when my head is clear!
And of course, I wish we were all pain free! Unfortunately, I haven't been since I was 5 years old. When I let loose and made the bad choice of starting this thread, I felt like gnawing my leg off.
I hope you'll all accept my apology and maybe even see that I'm not really the bitch I sounded like...very often.
Wishing you all less pain and more joy!
Dang it's hard to keep positive and joyful all the time with what we all endure....
That's why I love you guys so much.... Helps me find some peace from the chaos, I call life...
Gentle Hugs and love..... n dang we need Sparkles too 8-)
Big hugs...
We've all been there.

i happen to belong to a certain spiritual belief . probably the one to which you are referring.
the main tenant? tenet? whatever some fancyass word meanin "thing" in this belief as regards dealing with others is "Love one another"..............some people, in their zeal i think get carried away and start preachin the word. the "word" says.........love one another.
if people can manage that........truly do it...........all the "facts" will come clear(enuff) i think.
"boss one another" "talk down to one another" "impart the facts to one another" are not really in there.
LOVE one another.........that's a good thing. and all we can do is try.
lots of folks i don't love.......but way more i do.
i say it a lot here......."i love you" and when i say it.....it's always true. i find it easy......but i'm spoiled thataway
you guys....startin here with you Cherry..........are well..........loveable.
loving the unloveable is a different deal and much harder to do. for example......Wanda is a snatch and i can't stand her...........i haven't been on the big board to check so i'm not sure if that puts me on the list for hell there or not .....but really.......c'mon...........i don't love Wanda(apologies to those who do).
"have a pain free day".......i also have wondered on that one.
i have a personal relationship with Jesus.
if Jesus tells me to have a pain free day.........i'm gonna.
anybody else...i kinda wonder......where you been and where you think you are?
the "chronic (except sometimes)pain(free) board"
so.......all that ramblin aside Cherry, my friend......I Love You.
and i hope you enjoy from this moment into forever....minimal and manageable pain.
p.s........if you do end up down in the cellar.
and if you see Wanda down there.
black her eye for me wouldcha?
thanksbiuddy
peace
t
Did you mean Wanda is a snitch? ( little Freudian slip there, bud? )
Just wanted to add..
So Cherry..do you accept Christ as your personal saviour?
I'm sorry..I absolutely could not resist that. No offense to Christians or those of you who are going to burn in hell forever. Oops..sorry..did it again.
( the purpose of this post is for personal entertainment only...and does not represent the views of management)
Peace be with you..
And also with you.
OK..I really need to stop now before I p#** off the two percent of the board I haven't yet.
Luv you guys
jc
But there is a limit. I think we have all been there and would really like to open up our demon chest and let folks have it.
As far as the religious teachings, berating, rantings or sermons ...... I am glad for those folks who have found something to believe and trust in if it helps them cope with all that effects them. But I believe it is a personal thing with their God and could be a social thing within their churches but in an open forum where all have different beliefs they should be respectful of others beliefs.
I am guilty of wishing others to have a pain free day.....as I really do wish it could be.
I hope some relief comes your way.
