LESBIANS OVER 50 Community Group
I've created this group to promote a safe space and an opportunity for older lesbians to dialogue about and share their special issues, needs, concerns, or whatever they wish to share with the other members. Women only (please!) from all ages are welcome.

Ok the title might put you off a bit... (It did me) and to be honest it's not a book I would want to leave laying around for folks to tease me about, so honestly after reading the reviews on it, I found that there is a lot more to it than the title implies. So, to save myself some teasing I put it on my tablet :-) Ahhh technology, lol.
How To Get Your Lover Back by Blase Harris MD. It's really worth a read. Why I like it is because it makes you take a good look at yourself and your own behavior.
Unfortunately for me I made all the "needy" mistakes before I bought the book, lol.
That's ok. Live and learn. Also made me take a good look at the whole picture of our relationship and is helping me put things into the proper perspective.
I give it a thumbs up. Is a good all around read, no matter whether you are suffering from a breakup, alone and looking, or in a relationship and want to make it better. Check it out. Have a good weekend.

Sounds awesome - thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to add it to my Nook right now. Will be anxious to possibly discuss later?

I am in the middle of a separation so I appreciate the post.

I've been reading several books since my separation. I did not find it that helpful as I had read books I like better beforehand. I'd recommend "I love you but I'm not in love with you" by Andrew Marshall and "Should I stayo or go: how controlled separation can save your marriage" by Lee Raffel. Both these books have good info even if you aren't getting back together. I think I got more out of these authors than Mr. Harris' book. I read and give a neutral pass to "On the mend" A woman's guide for healing a broken heart' by Donna Mete. It's written to lesbian audience. Again, much of the info was found in the other two books.

Any read "Wicked" and seen the play? Wow...what a difference a musical can make. The book was good but was to me a downer vs. the play being more uplifting. Anyone?

No never heard of it. Have you ever read Fingersmith? I found it written very well but it was so depressing to me.

I have just bought Fingersmith, but it will be a while before I get to read it as I have quite a lineup of new books...Why did you find it depressing Topaz?

Well it's been 3 years since this post. I plan to look into this book but wonder, what is the outcome?

I'm not looking to resurrect any old relationships as most of mine had glaring mistakes in them....I chose ladies for reason that were inappropriate....The rocks in my head fit the holes in hers...Ha! Ha! Since then I've done a lot of "work" on myself and have learned that loving another for right reasons means loving yourself first. I am currently alone. Had one "close call" about a month ago but she chose to get back with someone that hurt her badly emotionally and financially a year ago, just because she is physically attracted to her. I feel like you gotta look at the WHOLE package. She calls me occasionally to cry & complain about her choices but last week, I made my boundaries known and said I'll be your friend and we can talk about anything you want except this relationship you got back into. She stopped calling. Just as well because it was hurtful to me. Let me know if you like the book. I just finished reading THE GIFTS OF IMPERFECTION by Brene Brown. It was terrific.
