I would consider looking up on Meetup and seeing what they have and also local church communities that run for woman especially would be a good place to start...depends on the relationship u are looking for, to date yes gay bars and clubs would be a starter place..and then as u gain experience u can broaden your horizon...there are some safe online sites as well, I will not recommend plenty of fish...that u can check out too....I personally didn't have much experience as to say at a gay club or bar scene as i am not into that...I am currently in a relationship and i met her thru a womens' grp thru common friends in my area...and it is working out for me, but each experience is different...hope this helps.

I met my girlfriend at the gay bar. Depending on what your hobbies or interests are, you may have luck finding a girl with the same interests if you were to join a team or a club of some sort, even taking a night class. It's different for everyone.

I've joined a Lesbian book club and also go to group support meetings that I found thru MeetUp.com The bar scene doesn't attract me but to each their own. I also put a profile on an online dating site and made contact with several women so far.
