My spouse Nancy is home from the hospital. I am doing IV therapy at home. My days are full of diapers, meds, other nursing chores, cleaning and all the rest of the household chores. I am feeling sad, lonely and unappreciated. She is doing the best she can, she is about the age of a six year old. I really need adult company. I need friends, to talk to... something more than if you are wet or can I get you something.
I am asking am I wrong for feeling the way I do???? An ideas of what I should do??????
Ok, a little background information...Nancy (55) has MS, Lyme Disease of the Brain and Dementia. She recently had a Respiratory Arrest here at home. Her first words was I love you, then she went on to say I should have let her go. She has been ill for the past 5 years. I have taken care of her from the very start. I love her, but or relationship has turned in to caregiver (me), care receiver (her) .. Nothing else for the past 5 years....

I'm sorry to hear that things have been so difficult for you & your partner.Thats got to be rough.....being mainly caregiver and not feeling like "equal partners" any longer...You sound like a very loving & compassionate woman, Who gives her ALL to her ill partner.......

I was once in a relationship, where i became caregiver for about 2 yrs. Round the clock care. & After awhile I craved other adults to talk to and began to feel more like my partners "nurse" than her wife. I know they say in vows: "Through sickness and Health", but many of us don't plan on having to deal with the sick part do we?!
